Life Fest: A Post-Roe Celebration

On June 24, 2022, after 49 years of abortion on demand in America, the Supreme Court ruled that there is no constitutional right to an abortion, and authority to enact legal protections for the preborn was turned back to the states.

On the first anniversary of this momentous decision, Nebraska Right to Life celebrated with a free family-oriented event open to the public. The first Life Fest was held on June 24, 2023 at Antelope Park in Lincoln. For three hours participants enjoyed carnival games, face painting, balloon animals, a raffle, prizes, and even some games for adults like cornhole. There were also food trucks and a live Christian band.

June 24, 2022 is a day we’ll always remember as a huge victory for preborn babies and the pro-life movement. One year ago, this was the day the Supreme Court ruled that “the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion”, allowing states the right to protect preborn babies. For nearly 50 years, this landmark decision was widely protested – until last year when the long-awaited decision to overturn Roe v. Wade was announced! This moment deserves to be celebrated year after year!
